December 25, 2023 - Floral, herbal, cherry, raspberry, plum, mint, coffee and chocolate.

So delicious with the slow-roasted duck, roast chicken and potatoes.

November 3, 2023 - A fabulous, vibrant Right Bank Bordeaux that seems much younger than its 19+ years. Floral and herbal notes on the nose with delicious red cherry, raspberry, and plum fruit on the palate accompanied by minty and nutty notes with some clove. Fabulous and an incredible QPR!!

July 14, 2023 - 2004 Horizontal Dinner (Tunglok Peking Duck Novena): Deep inky garnet, with browning and fading edges. Very enticing aromas of ripe blackberry, dark florals, mint, and a hint of barnyard. Whilst a little tannic bite, it has largely softened, while acids still lively, and flavours of ripe blackberry, cherry, mint, violets, cocoa, coffee, and then starts showing a little bit of moss, fungals, and forest floor. Medium length. It's in fact lovely because it's at the best window now, but not to be aged much further

June 25, 2023 - Very tasty. Has lost a bit since its heyday several years ago. But it still is holding up well and has a few years to go.

April 5, 2022 - So far drinking very good. Classic aged Saint Emillion, has a nice acidity angle. Meaty, stone-minerality, leather, and earth. Strong earthy-iron on the nose and plums. Just opened.

    March 7, 2021 - PnD let air for 2hrs.

Consistent with previous note. Delicious plummy and still fresh. Nice tertiary notes. In a perfect spot. Drink up.

February 21, 2021 - Now round and supple, with beautiful black cherry, cassis, cedar box, mushrooms, licorice, tobacco, espresso, and subtle bell pepper. There’s definite power on display, but the ‘04 vintage allowed this one to stay fresh and maintain its finesse. Tannins are pretty much fully resolved, with some snap to the fruit and a great lengthy finish. There’s still some oak to the flavors, but it’s well integrated now in its 17th year. Drinking at peak, maybe starting the downslope. I have one more but will drink within the next year or two.

December 6, 2019 - Further to my Note of June 16 '18: Medium purple; fragrant blackcurrant nose, hint of violets; mature fruit, hint of graphite, excellent mouthfeel; some persistence. Held up well for 2+ hours with some decline after that; reasonably sturdy with some years left. Delicious, glad I have more.

October 27, 2019 - Another beautiful bottle. This one drank well on P&P but did improve from decanter over 2 hours.
