December 27, 2023 - Showing better than the last time I tried two years ago. This started out quite dumb / neutral but with an hour of air this opened up nicely, with the fruit and acid and tannin and secondary aspects all in balance. Comes across as a bit modern or polished, dark-fruited and plush, rather too laid-back. with some interesting undergrowth aromas. Will continue to drink well but will it improve?

November 11, 2023 - From half bottle, the first glass, night one, was surprisingly enjoyable (no notes, unfortunately), given how forebodingly this wine has presented in my samplings up till now. Good, round, 1er SlB, albeit with a heavy structure of drying tannins, but performing the essential function of good red Burgundy, which is to make the drinker feel good about the world and being alive in general.

The second glass, night 2, was dominated by the tannins, which smothered whatever traces of fruit might still have lurked. I suspect this wine will continue to evolve favorably for some time yet and is giving an early peak at its potential now.

September 13, 2023 - Less strict than last time and approachable, but at this stage it hasn't really blossomed into anything either. Kind of muddled earthy flavors. Was more strict in the past, but I could pick out raspberries. I've had a few other vintages and they just didn't seem to hit it in this very strong vintage. I scored this without looking at the first three and it came in about the same. 86

August 5, 2023 - This was towards the traditional spectrum with a good dose of earthy aromas upon opening. Benefited tremendously form about an hr+ decant. Texture medium and fairly rich, this was still very young but showed well and I strongly suspect that it will be even better with more cellar time as there was plenty of material here but not fully integrated yet. A little patience required. Personally i would like to revisit in about 2-3 years but suspect longer will be no problem. Score based on the way it showed this evening and hopefully prove conservative with more bottle age.

May 30, 2023 - Opened early in the weekend for a taste. Was very herbal yet not very interesting so decided to recork and save for what ended up being two days later. Shows secondary character, though the palate remains pretty intensely herbal, not too surprised for a 2010 red, though at the upper range. The structure is mostly resolved though it does have a dusting of energetic fine tannin that fades with air. Good medium plus acids. The fruit just isn’t quite in full harmony yet, and I think the aromatics have some potential so I’d let these rest a while longer if this bottle was representative.
