August 29, 2020 - Maybe a little of the fruit aromas dissolved of over time, still coffee, clove and chocolate in there. Also unexpected lots of tannins and youthfulness, could easily last 10 years more in the cellar (tasted in summer 2020). I thought it didn't need decanting, my bad, it requires 2 hrs at least at this time. In my opinion lacking some finesse compared to the other good Barolos from this producer or same vintage premium competitors, as this is a real powerhouse, still it is a great pleasure to drink. Above average Barolo, and the winemakers deserve more recognition.

September 3, 2012 - Weekly tasting group #041; Italy: Piedmont, white and red. (@ EvA): Fairly light red with a carmine edge. In the bouquet a lot of clove and ether as well as very ripe fruits. The ether blows off after a while. On the palate ripe fruits, herbs and sweet spices, coffee and chocolate. A juicy and well balanced wine with good acidity and some pleasant sweetness.
