Community Tasting Notes 1

  • Tim Heaton Likes this wine:

May 17, 2015 - On the back side of its ageing curve; enjoyable, fully mature/resolved and restrained in style - some might say rustic or traditional. Medium>full-bodied, with notes of raisin, soil and ripe plums. Average acidity, avg+ length, with average flavors. Worked well with grilled meat and was made more interesting served side-by-side with a 2010 Seven Stones Cabernet Sauvignon if for no other reason than they are pretty polar opposites - so their details tend to show more clearly. Only 14,5% abv (the lowest of any Amarone Classico I can ever recall having before). The original $80 price-tag seems about 2x too high based on what this showed on the night. Still, I enjoyed it.

    Double-decanted for sediment, served non-blind.
