July 20, 2020 - By the half-bottle at Les Amis. This was very enjoyable - quite the classic Chassagne, showing the quality of the lovely 2007 vintage too. The nose was very attractive, with little notes of honeyed Chinese pears, a hint of beeswax, and some laundered sheets. Very pretty, almost floral, chamomile-like at points. The palate was really yummy, with the cut, thrust and definition of the vintage lent to it by a spine of bright acidity and fine mineral running through well-balanced flavours of yellow pears, lemons, and a little honey and fresh cut flowers. I really liked the balanced and fresh feel on this. There was weight, given the terroir, but this was also a wine with plenty of energy, which made it a really nice pairing for the food. Nice finish too, with a little lift of citrus zest and a hint of savoury, slatey, almost saline minerality. Very enjoyable, and starting to show well after half-an-hour in the decanter.

First comes the lemon attack, with thick buttery note in the background. It evolves further and gains depth, texture, sharpness, a precise palate with a mineral spike. Long finish, the saline feeling that fills your mouth.

Small bottle, but every bit just as good.

June 29, 2017 - During a Confrerie tasting dinner. Light yellow. Another crisp, simple chard tonight. Good but nothing to write home about.
