January 14, 2024 - Thought this was excellent. Good ripeness and spice without being over the top. Fine balance and detail

November 18, 2023 - While there are some who find the cool climate Pignan to be the near equal to the flagship RayasRreserve, I am not one of them. I find them well-made, but blunt and blocky. Not a wine I could describe as singing, not even baritone. And I suspect that the vintage is helping out this wine. Now that the price is up to several hundred dollars for this wine, I'd suggest being cautious with your waller.

August 25, 2023 - A really expressive nose of blood plum, licorice, purple flowers, sage and baked earth. The palate is luscious and full. It is a ripe wine but not overblown and waves of perfumed flavours lap around the gums. A pure and powerful wine, unadulterated and so pleasurable.

July 21, 2023 - This bottle seemed tighter than one I had a couple years ago. Slowly developing aromas of burnt hay in the decanter. Blackened/burnt fruit compote and cherry palate. High acidity. Funny enough while the prior bottle tasted almost nothing like Rayas this one tasted a lot like the ‘07 Rayas I had last year (98/100) albeit grainier and less highly toned. 93+/100
