October 22, 2021 - Cork in the neck of the bottle, I think it happened during shipping, so in this case it maybe a week or so like this. Nose is actually really nice, typical old Bordeaux with tomato, grape leaf, umami, gravel, smoke. Palate is not quite as alive as it should be but it’s definitely not gross. Decent acidity, flat taste of red berries, wood and graphite. It seems like it would have been ballin’ if the cork hadn’t failed. Oh well.

May 3, 2018 - Wine of the night in a blind 13 bottle 1978 tasting. The second bottle much better. Well matured Bordeaux that drinks at peak.

October 1, 2017 - Wow, clinging on to life. Bottle was very well cared for. No foul or spoiled flavors or scents. Had last bottle a long time ago. Tastes like some very old Bordeaux from the past. Hint of red berries and tar/smoke. It was 55 degrees. Let's see how it progresses.

March 15, 2011 - Decanted off sediment, rinsed bottle, poured back in and sealed. Opened 3 hours later for consumption. The wine still had some structure, a trace of fruit, and plenty of tannin. No signs of oxidation. About half way through the bottle (30 minutes or so) the wine died. A very nice, subtle, delicate experience, but still very enjoyable.

August 7, 2010 - This is an unusual wine. It has past its best days for sure but with patience you get a nice surprise. Upon opening a funky barnyard aroma hits you firmly. The taste is not bad but not particularly pleasing. The trick is to decant the wine and let it set for 4-5 hours then a delicate fruit aroma appears and a light cherry fruit flavor appears. The wine was nice to drink with some mild cheese and crackers. We like to find something old from our cellar to bring a smile to our faces.
