Compared side-by-side with the Fevre Fourchames '02, there were some similar characteristics--bright acidity, clean and crisp, persistent minerality. But compared to the Fevre, this displayed more obvious tropical fruit, some notes (pineapple) that on its own go somewhat less noticed. Didn't have the finish of the Fevre, or the depth. But still a real nice bottle, and a fun match-up.

  October 12, 2005 - This is another "no oak, no malo" bottling from Jay Somers. I've really come to enjoy this style, very pure, clean and juicy, almost Chablis-like. Lots of citrus notes on the palate, vibrant and bright, with a faint nuttiness buried under the fruit and a real streak of minerals on the finish, sort of the "rainwater on stone" that's hard to describe. Very nicely made wine, drinks well on its own and pairs well with food (mustard-grilled chicken and cous-cous salad in this case).
