November 28, 2018 - Over two years since I tasted this wine, and it has really started to bloom, and is a glorious experience. Now firmly in its drinking window, but with further evolvement going forward, the nose is opulent with dark berry fruit and red cherry. The palate is excellently balanced and it has already developed layers of complexity. The tannin has softened considerably over the last couple of years, and while integral to the tasting experience, it does not intrude. The finish is lengthy and harmonious, but the tannin does still need to lose its rougher edges to give a perfect ending to an excellent wine. A few hours in the decanter is recommended.

October 24, 2018 - Lovely wine - showing quite young and in a little bit of a funny place en magnum. Still needs time to blossom (it’s getting there in 750), but already shows a voluptuous black fruited nose that today shows a little heat, sacrificing the cool precision and complexity of the 95 for something riper and more obvious. For what it’s worth, a 750 in 2016 was more complete and more ready - no doubt bottle variation at work. 94+

June 14, 2018 - Bordeaux right bank 1998 tasting. 16 wines including Petrus, Cheval Blanc and VCC (Copenhagen, Denmark): Terrific wine. The smell is right up my alley although I can understand why others would find this to be a bit over the top. Truffles, hung meat and surmature fruit on the nose. Very nice balance and length. Yes it is modern, but in a good way, I think. Best wine of the flight by a wide margin.

April 14, 2018 - decanted 1-2 hours at restaurant. this still drinks incredibly young although tannin certainly resolved and plenty of fruit to go. Buddy really enjoyed this and had never had TR before. Remain a big fan and really a shame did not visit when in St. Emilion

95 pts

(Tertre Rotebouef) Good but not great. Big, sloppy and ripe but showing some heat on the finish. Not as ethereal as a bottle at Montrachet over a year ago. Really seemed kind of structureless.
