January 25, 2024 - Lesfleurs+: Surprisingly robust, and dare I say, fresh. A floral wine, nicely rounded, with pure black fruit, some iodine and a touch of cedar. The Cabernet Franc seems to win out over the Merlot. Fully resolved tannins. An outstanding showing after 25+ years.

July 22, 2023 - Colour: Translucent ruby with a hint of orange hue

Nose: Strong peppery wild berry fruits, a little spicy!

Palate: Silky smooth texture, a little sweet, pure and simple!

    Expecting a little bit more!!

November 10, 2022 - Served blind, guessing Bordeaux, Pomerol, iodine, rich, velvety, lush & elegant, better than the 07 Lafleur I had few months back, just lovely

August 17, 2021 - medium red color with some age starting to show at the rim, plums, cloves, rugged chalk and still a good bit of oak on the nose, on the palate open and ready to drink with a nice dark deep fruit, chalk and slight hints of sauvage, fine long finish and a worthy second wine to enjoy now while the spectacular 1998 Lafleur remains in hibernation, along with Forts de Latour and Dame de Montrose one of the strongest second wines in Bordeaux.

****, ready to drink and time in hand.

July 10, 2021 - We had this with BurgNick 4 years ago and since then, the wine has improved considerably, especially the palate which has gained some depth but still maintaining the very silky and round profile. The nose showed potpourri, spice, herbs, red fruit - very floral. Feels at peak now and seriously enjoyable.

May 15, 2021 - Fully matured Bordeaux, enjoyed it with veal, dark ruby color, expressive nose of currants, figs, plums, tea leaves tobacco. Palate is smooth, minimal unresolved tannins, black fruits and spices on the palate. Long finish. Drink up, will be over the hill in the next few years.

February 17, 2021 - Bought this recently and the bottle was in fantastic shape. Opened and tried over three hours or so. This was seamless with everything in balance and harmony. Expressive nose and the palate has delicious, sweet fruit. So easy to drink. Great wine in a great spot right now.

September 4, 2018 - Agree with the Littlehorse’s comments below. This is our 5th bottle of this wine and it has been getting better and better. The bottle last night was a”Wow”. Very fragrant with earthiness, gravel, limestone, dark roasted Chinese tea, on the palate, the fruits were dark but transparent and opulent, along with a great balanced acidity and smooth tannin. We finished the wine within 1.5 hours coz it was so good.

July 6, 2017 - The wine benefitted from a short decant. Nose has quite a bit of green pepper and herbs. Palate opened up and gained weight with decanting. Its seamless and expressive with blue and dark fruit. The palate is missing depth and complexity when you compare it with its first wine. This is drinking well now with a 45 mins decant. 90-91

April 8, 2016 - From a bottle purchased upon release and cellared in pristine fashion, this wine was decanted and serially sampled over several hours. Deep garnet in color, it is effusive of wild berries, coriander, lavender, pipe tobacco and loamy earth. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (13%) and with silky residual tannins, it delivers black fruit and earthy flavors. Dense in the middle and closing with medium length, this outstanding Pomerol is hitting its stride. Drink now-2023.
