May 16, 2021 - Guess I'm the only one with this in his cellar. I liked this better than a year ago. Still a bit acidic, but in the bright sense, and overall flavors were good. Not sure if this is "burgundian" style vs. California, but if it is, I prefer the latter. On the other hand, pretty good deal at under $40.

March 31, 2020 - A little thin and acidic first night, but plumped up second under pump. Bottom line, give it lots of time in the glass, but good core flavors.

October 17, 2018 - Light garnet color, with some brick tones starting to emerge. Nose is immediately expressive, with subtly savory aromas of roasted meat, and an intense minerality leavened by tart cherry smells. A promising start; unfortunately, there's little follow-through on the palate. There's sweet baking spice and red berries to enter, with the slightly astringent flavor of tea leaves and then... nothing. A very taut, Chardonnay-like acidity gives way to a completely mute midpalate. There's only a residual flavor of cracked black peppercorn before this disappears completely. Unlike the several Pavelot 2010's I have recently enjoyed, this doesn't hold any promise for additional improvement. A weak effort, despite the auspicious vintage. I've got a few 2010 Tortochot 1er and Grand Crus in the cellar, which hopefully have more to say for themselves.

March 27, 2017 - This wine managed to move me! It is on the lean side, pale garnet in colour, bone dry, with not much in the way of pleasing fruitiness, sweetness or ripeness. And then again, on reflection, more and more airing and a bit of attention, this is sooo rewarding! In the end, this sports such crunchy, ethereal, zingy cherry and rose perfume I am almost getting goosebumps. A wine with energy! It feels somewhat stemmy but carries it extremely well and feels like it gains all the more character from it. It leaves a savoury, herbaceous element that I wouldn't be without! A vaguely noticeable distant hint of woodsmoke adds further to the total. On one hand so light bodied and self depricating and on the other hand, so uplifting and rewarding. Not for those seeking ripe, candied, dare I say 'Parkerized' pinot noirs, but ...... I'll stop now, I guess you get the picture.

December 2, 2013 - Sweet red fruit nose, with minerality and a hint of meat. Light-medium bodied, refreshing fruitiness in the palate but also sharp acidity. Fair, medium finish. Need a couple years to round its edges.
