January 15, 2022 - My last bottle and it is drinking beautifully. Nose is leather and blackberry. Huge leather, blackberry, raisins on the palate. Tannins are mostly resolved and soft. A complex wine with a savory character. Time to drink. Really delicious.

Decanted and showing light sediment.
The nose is red fruited showing notes of dark cherry and cranberry sauce with notes of plum and currants. Additional scents of earth, sage, bell pepper and light hints of tobacco, baking spice and leather.
The palate shows high acidity and moderate tannins. Tart cherry flavors mix with cranberry, bramble, earth, herbs and hints of bell pepper, tobacco and leather. The medium-plus finish, for me, is a little green and sharp. -

June 7, 2020 - At 10 years this wine is aging gracefully. Fruit is moving from bright to brambly. Beautiful tint of brick emerging in the glass. It took a few minutes to open up (as it warmed from cellar temp) with a nose of raisins, leather, and blackberry preserve. Velvety mouthfeel. I’ll probably not wait too long to drink my last bottle.

February 9, 2014 - Delicious, balanced ripe fruit. It's big a delicious but doesn't seem overly oaked or manipulated. This is one of the best big American wines that I've had in some time.
