  January 25, 2022 - Not a great cork situation, in fact it went straight down the bottle on just a light touch. The wine is intact, however. Red, ruby color. Understated aromas of roses, red fruits, forest floor on the nose. Gentle, soft and round on the palate, tannins resolved now. Tertiary flavors and soft red fruit. Absolutely lovely, mature burgundy with plenty of life left.

  October 19, 2012 - Much better than the bottle opened in July and now showing the great purity of fruit I always find in Jean Marc Morey's wines. A floral nose with aromas of fine, red fruits and mushrooms. Intense palate of strawberry fruit and sous-bois. Fine and elegant this wine, lovely example of a mature Beaune Greves.

  July 21, 2012 - The Beaune Greves bottling from Morey is a favorite of mine but here is another 1996 with a so-so showing. The fruit is bitter and riper than I would have expected, a far cry from the pure, light red fruit I usually find in this wine. I wonder if this, like the Cornu Corvees, needs more time to come around. I will give this another few years and check in again.
