Community Tasting Notes 3

October 14, 2013 - My tasting notes now are more or less the same with my previous one from a year ago. There seems to have been very little evolution; the color is perhaps a tad lighter and more translucent, the nose a little bit more restrained and on the palate the wine comes across a bit smoother, maybe lacking freshness. All the descriptors are more or less the same. If there has been any evolution, it definitely hasn't been going up.

    Meh.

October 8, 2012 - Very dark - almost black - red color with purple hues. Succulent, dark-toned nose with sweet, fruit-forward aromas of plummy fruit, jammy sweetness, overripe aromatic richness and a faint note of vanilla. However, in the mouth the wine is a lot more fresh than the nose suggests without that soupy fatness - although the palate is obviously still very ripe and jammy. Flavors of bramble, plums, chocolate, some smoke and hints of allspice. Low on both acidity and tannins, barely giving the wine any structure. Sweet and supple aftertaste with flavors of very ripe plums, peppery spice, some herbal and spicy bitterness and a touch of warmth.

A decent basic-level Chilean red. Easily approachable without any real character, but at least the wine is not overmade and overextracted, giving it some semblance of balance. Somewhat worth its price at 9,99€ if you are looking for a simple, everyday organic wine that definitely won't challenge anybody.

February 22, 2012 - ChTR kokous 22.02.2012 (SKO-toimisto): Decanted for an hour, tasted double blind. This was quite a dark purple. The nose was very young, with lots of dark fruits and citrusy oak. The palate was also rather full-bodied, with lots of black fruit like cassis and a citrusy aspect here as well. An easy drinker.
