Community Tasting Notes 2

November 15, 2013 - I'm sure this is the first Petit Sirah I have ever seen or tasted from Chile. It is easy to discern that the typical earthy, wet tree bark flavors from Chile work well with Petit Sirah. The color is inky dark. The nose has that spicy dried blueberry we have become to expect from Petit Sirah. Across the palate we get a cigar box flavor enhanced blueberry preserves and graphite. A touch of evergreen on the roof of the mouth. Still plenty of youngish, balancing acidity. Some medium heavy to heavy toast oak. Long, spicy, evergreen black fruit finish.

October 21, 2012 - Color of blackcurrants, densely extracted, perfumed, brambly, lots of graphite, black pepper, meaty, structured, lengthy finish. Got to like it for the money.
