December 25, 2012 - Gorgeous color, fruit is subtle this wine is aging gracefully. Leather smoke and spice if fore front. Fruit take a back seat but is still present. Lush and spicy is how I describe this wine. I am curious to see if this continues to age or if its time to drink.

September 26, 2011 - Still a great wine! served this with Veal Marengo and it was a perfect pairing. THe fruit is much more subtle than it was when it was younger but there is still enough to be enjoyable. the body is full and complimented the onion and tomato base of the veal. Our guests would have drank half a case!

November 24, 2010 - this bottle had more sediment than the others we have opened, after about 30 mins decantered it started to open up. Less fruit than in previous drinkings (years) less spice, much more subtle. needed more time to warm and airate. still good to drink with earthy notes and coffee and spice. The nose was much dimineshed as compared to the past years. We couldn't decide if the bottle had oxidized more than it should have, or if it was past its prime or just in a awkward stage. I expected this to be able to cellar, am re-thinking that somewhat.
