November 23, 2023 - Seemed a bit over the hill tbh, though still tasty and well balanced. Plenty of tertiary notes. Solid but not spectacular.

October 3, 2022 - Loved this, pretty much PnP'd... Others describe it well.

February 17, 2022 - Medium brick-red color. On the nose, it's quite perfumed and sweet, with notes of cinnamon spice, dried rose petals, fresh-baked pie crust, vanilla bean, and applewood smoke. Also some herbal character that is more difficult to pin down. There is still from ripe cherry fruit aroma, but it is secondary to the flowers and spice. With air, there is something more earthy and phenolic, like burning moss and pine needles. On the palate, the character changes quite a bit. Instead of the floral, spicy sweetness, it is immediately masculine, brooding, even a bit standoffish. Still very tannic, and the tannins combine with the woody flavors to make for quite a drying, slightly bitter impression. There is a tart blast of sour cherry that comes out mostly on the finish, along with an emergence of the floral flavors. As it breathes and—more importantly—as your mouth adjusts to the tannic assault, more nuance begins to show through, and the fruit creeps into the midpalate, making for a more balanced, pleasurable experience.

At first, I was quite disappointed as it seemed like I had waited too long on this bottle and that it was all sharp elbows. And I still don't know whether it will get better or worse with additional age, but I did like it quite a bit more after spending some time with it. But it puts up a fight!

July 28, 2018 - 4 hour decant, very easy drinking with velvety tannins. Well liked by everyone. Too much wine for details.

December 16, 2017 - Very appropriate brunello. Cherries, tobacco and too much earth. Besides, vibrant acidity and slightly dry tannins.
