April 12, 2020 - It was fun to taste this old thing, but not something I’d want to make a habit of. Was able to get the cork out in (almost) one piece with a bellame. Looked like a 20 year old, lightweight Pinot, but browner. Initial nose was essentially diarrhea — very sorry, but that’s what came to mind. Thankfully, that blew off after about 2 hours in decanter (couldn’t get near it before that!). At that point, some rotting coconut on the nose, and on palate it could pass for a bad oloroso sherry.

April 21, 2015 - Förvånansvärt bra, syran har börjat ta över men len och fin med bra fruktighet kvar. Behövde lite luftning i glaset.

February 11, 2015 - The wine was popped and decanted for half a day before drinking. Surprisingly, the cork condition was great and came out in one piece. Closed at first, the nose took a while to open up. While the concentration was lacking, the bouquet was dominated by tertiary flavors of leather, soy, brett, pepper, game and tobacco. There were just tinges of black fruit in the end - cherries to be exact. On the palate, the structure was supple with the tannins and minerality quietly asserting themselves. Again, the palate consisted predominantly of fermented soybeans, game, kirsch, anise and earth. Just a tingle of kirsch and mandarin peel. Acidity was high in this wine to inject some vivacity within the bevy of tertiary flavors. Finish was of medium length but overall, quite decent.

September 19, 2014 - Upper shoulder fill, half crumbled/saturated cork. 12.2 alc. $29. dark brick tinge to see through wine. Amazing development after 10 mins, continuing, with a slight hickup of umami (subjective), red fruit, and, in a good way, a blood, game, iodiney sort of thing...again, in a good way. Some Bordeaux nose, but wth in a lighter, acid driven (integrated), but also flavorful palate. Regardless, it's a steal having a drinkable wine that's 44 years old for under 30 and not just for novelty factor, but that is a bonus!

October 17, 2012 - Not sure if this was beyond its drinking window or poor storage, but nothing interesting about this bottle. No fruit left, and drying tannins are all that remains.
