Community Tasting Notes 10

  • Seth Rosenberg Does not like this wine:

May 13, 2023 - Sweet but dominated by burnt flavors. Jayson has had this before and thought this wasn’t the best bottle of this wine.

May 1, 2022 - This was impressive and delightful nectar; the color was quite a deep amber which had me a bit worried, but the nose was stellar with rich botrytized fruit, honeysuckle, wet wool, dried lily, hints of straw, even a bit of mushroom. The palate was decadent and rich, but still with a lovely acidity that gives it a mouth watering finish. Great stuff and I will be looking for more.

February 11, 2022 - I am not a fan of sweet wines however the level of acid on this makes this very drinkable and not just one glass.

November 26, 2020 - From a small bottle from Zak. Tasted double blind. This has a very sugary feel to it - maybe brown sugar rock candy? A little sugar and herbsl/medicinal - almost like Chinato - feels a little light at points. The palate is similar but deeper and more complete - brown sugar, herbs, caramel maybe some dirt? Finish is savory, herbal and sweet. Like this a lot. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5-5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17-17.5/20.

December 25, 2014 - Amber color with a very angular bouquet and flavor from its long aging. It was only mildly sweet with waning acidity and possibly some oxidized apricot. The wine was probably much more alluring when younger. I am not a fan of old dessert wines. I do not think that aging improves most of them.
