January 7, 2020 - At this point in its life, you've got to be a fan of older old world wines in order to appreciate what's here/left. This bottle came directly from the farm's cellars last year, so provenance isn't an issue; cork, fill, color, etc., in ideal condition, as one can imagine. A light(er) ruby core with a very watery edge. Initial aromas tend toward soil, place, and to some extent, time. After two hours of air in decanter, this began to 'wake up', adding fruit/weight, and complexity as it did. Still, it remained a mostly medium bodied wine, with plenty of fresh acidity, and tannins that are beginning to show their last bits of life. Fully mature, and not getting any better from here, but (this particular bottle) also suggests another 3-4 years of solid enjoyment, too. Very happy to have tried this, and so glad I aerated prior to drinking (i.e. this went from tart to quite pleasant in that time frame). Drink now

May 24, 2018 - Slightly over the hill, I think, though with some tannin grip on the finish that indicates it still has some time to go - highly acidic, and somewhat flat, needed some fruit to balance it out. Lightly floral nose.

December 29, 2017 - Not sure how to describe this bottle... At first it appeared very tight and in need of open time. After 30-40 mins and some chicken liver mousse we arrived at an 88. Very tart and funky.

November 6, 2017 - This wasn't good at all. It didn't go through malo so it tastes a really weird.

April 19, 2017 - Uggggh! With the initial pour, wasn't sure if it was corked or not. Let it sit for a while. Don't think so. just past it's prime. Hints of cigar on the nose. As others have commented, tart on the palate.
