  December 24, 2021 - Dark amber, full body. Nose of overripe peach and apricot, bruised apple, apple cider, baking spices. Adds honey and baked fruits on the palate with considerable sweetness lacking the acidity to keep it in check. Maybe would have been better earlier on as also lacks freshness. Maybe try with some blue cheese if you open. Or plop in some salted peanuts. :-)

  July 7, 2012 - This was a slam-dunk crowd pleaser for everyone at dinner...except me. I found it somewhat flabby and way too sweet. I mean waaaay too sweet--let's just say I kept going back to my Haagen-Dazs ice cream sundae in order to find some structure and austerity. And just so you know, I do love a good Sauternes, so I'm not adverse to dessert wines. There's one caveat: this was my first ice wine, domestic or otherwise, so I really don't know if this is the typical ice wine flavor profile. Everyone else was raving though-taking photos of the label, etc.-so if you have a sweet tooth that leans toward tropical fruit topped with a couple of spoonfuls of sugar, you'll absolutely love this wine!
