June 14, 2019 - This wine is in a great place. By turns tart, chewy, fruity, and oaky, intensely but all in balance, I'm very much into it. It might not be what you expect from a Petite -- for instance expressing red fruit instead of black -- but that's fine with me. This is drinking quite well at year 10. I'm sad that this is my last bottle. Cheers! Here's to you, Will.

August 18, 2018 - This is an honestly made California Petite Syrah. More tart than you might expect from the varietal, but better for it. This is a Petite you could actually have with dinner. I'm very glad to have some to drink over the next few years.

July 25, 2017 - Good but not great. On the light side for a PS. Not overly tannic.

October 23, 2016 - I like this quite a bit and it went great with a medium rare chateaubriand, grilled fingerling potatoes, and a corn and green bean salad. But it was less tannic and viscerally thrilling than I want my PS. It was fairly cabernet like in a smooth, suave way, which was nothing to complain about. The finish and aromas are both very long, so you get a real rush of flavor with each sip, from lifting the glass till long after its down the gullet. No perceptible heat, nice dark berry fruit, a little savory note, maybe watered down soy or something, and starting to get the aging notes I'd expect from cab, like leather or tobacco. Really good wine, and I'd buy more, but might not drink it when I have a jones for PS, which I have been getting lately.
