Community Tasting Notes 4

July 23, 2013 - This was solid but not spectacular. Nice fruit, smokey and gamey. Nice mouthfeel and integrated tannins. Short on the finish and lacking complexity. Very drinkable though.

August 29, 2012 - Drinking it young and I know it! Gamey nose at first, but then the alcohol overpowers the scent. Nice tannins, black fruit dominates the palate. A decent Rhone approximation.

June 16, 2012 - Elusive: Grenache/Syrah/Mouvedre. Strawberry all over this. Highly tannic finish with big acidity. Will age nicely, very rich, full bodied, but not over-bearing.

(Quivira Syrah Wine Creek Ranch) Very dark ruby color; tart plum, tart black fruit, light sweet green herb nose; tight, tart black fruit, tart plum, tart berry palate with medium acidity; needs 3 years; medium-plus finish (14.5% alcohol)
