July 11, 2018 - Good. Still youthful colour. Earthiness, red and dark berries, leather. Palate is medium to fully bodied, powerful but more settled than a few years back. The wine seems to have reached a good drinking window now. Some complexity. Drinking easily. Some intense red berries push through and gives a youthful experience. This could be cellared longer, for those who want.

November 23, 2013 - The Cabernet comes from Thrace and the Öküzgözü from Eastern Anatolia. Youthful, crimson colour with a ruby tinge. The nose is meaty, fresh, full of ripe cassis, cherry, forest floor. The oak is perfectly integrated. The wine grows on the palate and shows very good substance, delicious fruit in a full body with great acids carrying it through. My instant feeling was: wow, good stuff! Tastes like beef blood and you can sense some earthiness too. The texture is smooth. The high alcohol is well integrated which keeps the heat from becoming a disturbance. Still it is pretty robust and big. This is the best Turkish red I've had in a long time. Excellent to drink now; not sure if it will improve with further cellaring but will certainly continue to give pleasure for several years.

November 5, 2012 - Interesting. 55 Turkish lira in Istanbul at a shop. Noticable high acidity. Sharp! Blackberry and cassis. Rather savage and young with no real finish. Just beginning to explore the curious native grape. Very little cab sauv shines through.

September 16, 2012 - Slightly opaque purplish ruby in colour. The nose of the wine- with a slight touch of volatility- is well balanced with the blackcurrant, cherry, plum like ripe fruits, green pepper and leathery, earthy spicy, vanilla and tar aromas underneath. Medium bodied, soft, distinct acidity, well-integrated tannins and good freshness. When its good concentration come together with the elegance and the balance, it gives one the desire to keep it in mouth. Alcohol at its medium-length finlish does not negatively affect the balance.
Tasted during the blind tasting event " Recent prominent Turkish wines" performed by Turkish Wine Enthusiasts with participation of İsa Bal,Gence Alton and Aslı Odman on 24 June 2012.

August 31, 2012 - Hafif opak morumsu derin yakut.
