January 18, 2023 - Decanted and let settle for 30 minutes. Intense, rich fruit; on the sweet side, but scrumptious. Deep dark berry flavors. Probably will not improve; why wait?

March 21, 2021 - Massively huge super ripe fruit. Almost sweet, but held in check by the acidity. Big oak spice. Tannins mostly gone. Subtle herbs and hay on the nose.

December 7, 2018 - POP. Fruit forward. Served with Soup with Hot chicken sausage, carrots, parsnips, collard greens over polenta with parmigiana. Little or no tannins, ready to drink. Raspberries, strawberries, and plums. No subtlety. Fun and invigorating. No mistaking this for an old world wine.
Lot's of alcohol, but nat an issue 30 minutes into meal.

    first of 6 bottles.

January 14, 2018 - Nose with notes of green pepper, herbal, but in a very pleasant subtle way, not overpowering but more in a depth-giving fashion. Palate still juicy and fresh, rich fruit. Big (15.3% abv) but well-balanced, highly enjoyable in the right context. 93 pts
