November 26, 2021 - Screwcap, 14.5% alc. Dark black–red. Really bright at the rim, youthful.

Fruity and savoury on the nose, yet I wouldn’t say sweet-fruited.
Blueberry and blackberry, chocolate, cherry, vanilla, sausage, and nutty oak.

The palate is more restrained and “old world” like; more about sandy tannins and acid than fruit, but the fruit is there in the background and shows up on the moderate length, savoury edged, finish.

Opinion: drinks well but it seems to be at an in-between phase at present.

October 3, 2021 - Big wine but coming around nicely. Still has more to give, chocolate and big tannin.

June 8, 2020 - Agree with DanielJH comments. It's superb, but needs a decant.

May 27, 2020 - Really into the drinking zone here. Savoury and spicy with dark red and black fruits. Lovely wine.

March 5, 2017 - Concentrated and rich dark berries with some blueberry on the nose. Only just starting to evolve but it is together and balance is spot on. Savoury mouth filling wine for the long haul. Give 5 years. 95.

December 19, 2015 - Inky black red. Everything black on the nose. Nice florals notes, soy and Asian five spice. Chocolate notes. Very black cherry and dark plum palate. Nothing jammy. Clear clean fruit. Gorgeous balance with good oak support and fine tannins. This is ready to go now, but will pile on further complexity as it ages. Very, Very Good.

December 9, 2012 - Usual impenetrable black with hints of purple/red. Nose of licorice and cloves. Blackest cherry fruit with blackberry black plum and plenty of other black stuff. Deep set tannin for the long haul. Moreish savoury acid. Definitely and unsurprisingly more approachable than the Symphony. A real sarsaparilla note on the bouquet and palate as it opens up to go with the licorice. The best years are ahead of this!
