January 6, 2014 - Fresh with slate, chalk and mineral tinged core of bright citrus fruit. Clean and narrow with a greenish streak. Good length.

June 29, 2013 - My first GV. I definitely enjoyed it, but struggled getting a whole lot on the nose. The flavor profile reminded me of Rieslings I've had, but there was an extra exotic taste at the end I couldn't quite put my tastebud on. Nice balance and paired great with a fennel celery salad at lunch the next day.

February 24, 2013 - Nose - exotic floral, lychee, other white fruits
Mouth - racy white floral, lively white chewing gum flavors, very unique , lovely white

September 24, 2012 - Dinner with friends at Momofuku Ko: Nothing crazy special, but a real nice energetic Gruner full of spritzy grapefruit, lemon, green apple, slate, and acid. We actually had this at Saam Bar off their list after finishing dinner at Ko. What more do you need with a David Chang pork bun?

January 23, 2012 - Spring 2012 Terry Theise/WineWise/The Vienna Wine Co Tasting Part II: Austria (The General's Residence, Fort Mason, San Francisco, California): Light yellow color with spritz; intriguing, tart green fruit, wintergreen nose; tasty, tart green fruit, light pepper, mineral palate; medium-plus finish

(Nigl Grüner Veltliner Freiheit) ($22.00) Oh bless him; even in 2011 this still has just 11.5% alc. And it’s really a perfect vintage for Freiheit, with sushi-knife cut yet fluffy fruit. The grassy high note is agreeable in this context.
