April 3, 2020 - A food friendly wine, lots of acid to back up the dark fruit.

May 19, 2016 - We've tried the AW Vineyard-designate BTG Merlots three consecutive nights now: Ciel, Two Blondes, and Champoux. Champoux was the clear winner, best fruit, very balanced, most enjoyable by a significant margin. All three wines were enjoyable, Ciel came in 2nd a bit more power and structure than this wine, Two Blondes brings up the rear - good fruit but least fresh and a tad disjointed in our opinion. All three still drinking well, solid QPR, esp. the Champoux!

January 16, 2015 - Decanted and this was pretty open after about 15 minutes. Great nose with earth, plum, tar, tobacco, a hint of smoke and ample dark fruit. On the palate, good acidity and more dark fruits with some bright notes and a hint of pepper. Nicely structured finish that lasts for a while. Dark red and still concentrated, the tannin might soften a bit more and this might develop some more secondary characteristics, but this is drinking very well right now.

November 19, 2013 - Nose is cool; initial mouth feel of spice with ripe plums on back. Nice supple tannins

October 8, 2012 - Two Blondes has some kind of stems. Opened in a fit of pique, definitely would hold on to the others for a while longer. Deep, dark, dense, plush fruit; beautiful balance, resonant finish. Had open for two days, impressive from first to last glass.
