August 26, 2012 - Midneck fill and cork removed in one piece. A blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Carignane. Brilliant garnet color in glass with browning evident. Musty bouquet with some spice. A heavy weight on palate, thick chocolatey fruit. Beginning to crack up. Lots of sludge inside empty bottle. 14.5 % alcohol. 87/100.

October 19, 2009 - Opened and tried, was rather disappointed. Let it sit for a while as it seemed muted. After about 2 hours more complexity began to show through. Was past its prime, but was still fun to try. Very different from the one I had three years ago.

December 15, 2007 - I AGREE WITH THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS. I WAITED TOO LONG TO DRINK THIS BOTTLE. FRUITS HAD FADED CONSIDERABLY FROM LAST TIME THAT I HAD IT. LEFT A HALF BOTTLE AT THE RESTAURANT.

November 22, 2007 - Turkey Day 2007 (Chez jjclips): This could be a great example of why not to bother aging your zins not named Ridge. It wasn't dead, but the tannins were overpowering, and the fruit, while still present, had faded mostly to the background. Nothing like the full, jammy wines these are on release. It wasn't hot, however, which was a surprise.

November 22, 2007 - Thanksgiving 2007 (Anchorage): Unique. Not too sure I've had many older Zins or Zin blends. The fruit comonent was still there, just not as jammy or bright. Also still had a clumsy tannin structure towards the finish, which was undesirable. Good spice, black pepper, and held a menthol quality too. This might appeal to some, but not necessarily myself. A good experience though.
