April 20, 2015 - Retailer tasting (Vianen): Elegant bouquet with ripe red berries. Same on the palate, mild acidity and soft tannin. Ok wine. Lacks some focus.

June 2, 2014 - Takes at least 2 hours to open up. Quite enjoyable, but simple, easy drinking. Will probably buy again and give it a bit more air time.

May 11, 2014 - I hate the screw cap and the thought that the wine I drank was in contact for a couple of years with the plastic film on the inside of the cap. Too bad since if it had a cork I would have bought plenty more since this is really very tasty. At first the nose was discrete but it opened up to reveal typical Pinot Noir character with a stemmy, resinous profile with cranberries and some strawberries. The palate is supple and easy to enjoy and it has a sweet core of red fruits which finishes dry with a touch of tobacco.
Too bad about the screw cap but I guess most New Zealanders have managed to convince themselves that it is better to have their wines aged in plastic than have a faulty cork now and again.....

March 9, 2014 - Raspberry, strawberry, cherry. Simple.

December 10, 2013 - This is a likable pinot noir. I'm a fan of NZ pinot and this fits the bill with increased earthiness as well as standard cherry and dried powder. The aroma reminds me of fresh mud and cherry. Not a fruit bomb. It finished with a burst of black pepper tannin. Good effort for the price, it's more of what I like than Calif. pinots costing twice as much.
