February 8, 2024 - Wow, so very good and a Burgundy-lovers BdM. Aromatically alluring with an array of red berries, earth and spice. So refined and ethereal despite the warmer vintage. At peak.

February 8, 2024 - Sangiovese night (Chicago, IL): Oh man, I love di Sotto so much -- it may well be my favourite sangiovese producer. This bottle is no exception. To be annoying and pick nits, the fruit here shows the ripeness of the vintage, and there's a cooked (but not unpleasantly stewy) quality to the fruit here. But besides that, this is a really outstanding wine -- so clean and silky and decadent. Very much ready to drink now.

December 16, 2023 - Had the same wine last year and wow again! Garnet robe, beautiful nose. Notes of cherry, roasted tomato, red plum, balsamic, sweet tobacco. The nose is really incredible and gets me back to Tuscany. Mouth is balanced, still fresh and integrated tannins. Some black fruit came along with notes of umami and baking spice. Medium+ to long finish. Felt a tad more tired than last year but still elegant and amazing

November 4, 2023 - Tight and ungiving at first but really started to open up nicely as the night wore on. By about 6 hours in, it was humming. Blast of raspberry and sour cherry, Burgundian and refined mouthfeel. Lacks the depth and concentration of some other vintages but lovely nonetheless.

June 24, 2023 - Pop and pour into a decanter - an hour might have been a little better, but that's a minor quibble in this case. In the glass, medium-dark red. On the nose, very floral - notes of cherry and raspberry are present, but roses, honeysuckle, and a spicy note of clove lead the way. On the palate, silky, pure, and balanced, with the floral and berry notes weaving in and out of focus, leading to a smooth, lingering finish. Class.
