Eye: golden color. Nose: honey, citrus, nuts, floral. Palate: crisp, full tropical fruit, not too acidic, full round flavor, nice finish. -

April 16, 2012 - Pale, rather neutral color. Lots of notes typical of Pinot Gris in the nose: ripe melon, abundant florality, forest floor, some mushrooms and a touch of meatiness. Alcohol brings a faint streak of spiritus fortis. Soft and mic-bodied in the mouth with lots of tropical fruits: ripe grapefruit, carambola and a small hint of ripe pear. Some minerality in the background. Slightly flabby; could use more acidity - although the acidity manages to keep the RS (8 g/l) nicely at bay. Rather lengthy finish with more pronounced acidity. Although the aftertaste is quite hot, especially in the throat, it is also very nice and complex, letting notes of baked spice, pineapple, smoke and minerality linger on.
Nothing special to write home about, but nothing bad either. A decent everyday quaffer that works well on its own or with more heartier dishes. A nice buy at 8,95€.
