March 31, 2024 - Classic Barolo notes and immensely connected. Magnum. Tasted each day for 3 and better each time! Still in secondary phase and plenty of time (years) left.
July 2, 2023 - Similar to the 2/12/20 bottle.
February 12, 2020 - Happily, this wine was similar to the 8/3/15 bottle.
November 4, 2017 - Très bon, apogée, pas pressé, tannins encore bien présents
November 1, 2017 - Classic tar and roses nose. Very expressive, with sweet cherry fruit and plenty of floral spice. Excellent depth, quite silky and round in the mouth. Builds through the palate and has some chew to the finish. Great proportion and balance.
October 24, 2017 - Italian Wines in Boston: Dark red. Some nail polish. Tannins still unresolved. Expressive palate. Pine. A bit disjointed.
August 3, 2015 - Medium red color with clear rim. Classic aromas of dried cherries, tar and wood spices. Medium-bodied fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length and well-integrated ripe tannins. Still very fresh and silky and complex on the palate. At peak.
March 1, 2015 - Surprisingly little bricking and retained a ruby-purple color with very little sediment. Some complexity, hints of leather and went well with our porcini pasta. This bottle had been wine cellared at 55-60F for the majority of it's life which may possibly account for why it faired better than many of the other tasting notes.
January 25, 2015 - This was best after opening, evolved and enjoyable, and faded as the night went on.
September 29, 2013 - Sadly, nose sherried. Still tannic and tough, not surprisingly for the vintage but palate old. I gave it a full 24 hours hoping it would rise like a Phoenix, but alas no.
