July 25, 2019 - Seven months since last bottle. Past its peak and fading. Drink up. Two more bottles in my cellar.

January 27, 2019 - Nose is a bit odd after 4 hrs of air, muted and sort of like plum crossed with wet plaster. Not unpleasant, just very muted.
Taste: graphite, muted dark fruits. Very mild tannins.
All in all, was not a fan of this wine. Had with some beef bourguignon, and it couldn't stand up to the richness of the dish, and I couldn't see myself buying this to enjoy on it's own.

December 27, 2018 - Updating previous note to warn about rather heavy sediment in the last bottle. Best to decant. Otherwise, still drinking nicely. Decanted about and 3 hours before drinking.

July 12, 2018 - Following the previous recommendation (KAKPOO), this was consumed over two nights with ample time to open up. I agree that the fruit emerges nicely on the second day and mitigates the minerality. Interesting aromas of tire rubber and anise. As mentioned in my note about the 2009, KLWM recommends drinking this wine (2008) now. Nevertheless it needs much time to aerate and open up.

July 5, 2018 - Drank out of a 375ml. On day one, this wine seemed tight and acidic. I took a 3-4oz pour, put the cork back in the bottle and put the bottle back in my cellar. Retasted this on day 3 and the wine was open and expressive. The acid seemed to be balanced out by the fruit.

November 30, 2017 - Lighter color than the Château Moulin. Very nice nose - brooding red fruit, a little spice. Nice lithe medium body and refreshing acidity. The tannins are chunky and a little drying - if they integrate better this could be great.

March 22, 2017 - Color and nose are fine, it's just not very well put together, or comes from fruit that was not the best. Sour cherry, cranberry, and a little thin. Tannins are a nice respite, chalky almost. I can see, maybe, the tannins flatten out in 5 years and if (IF) the fruit holds this could be something to appreciate. But that's sort of a big "if".

March 2, 2017 - Opened and decanted 30-min ahead of broiled filet, quinoa, and mixed salad. Dark garnet color, cloudy, murky. Not much on the nose beyond blackberries and fresh violets. The palate is medium-full, compact, dense, and tight, briging dark cherries, blackberries, raspberries, plums, and lavender. The finish is thick and dusty. This is basically shut down at the moment, so HOLD until after 2019-2020. Seems to have good stuffing, a good frame, and the potential for balance, but its just muted right now. Technical score: 90. Enjoyment score: 87.

February 4, 2017 - Clear, deep garnet-olive color. Light intensity on the nose- mostly black currant, herbs de Provence, graphite- not giving much. Much more open on the palate- bright black currant fruit, with appealing secondary notes of violet, smoked paprika, black tea, graphite, and tar. Medium weight, medium-plus acid, lightening in depth and density as it moves through the palate. Firm tannins, medium finish of spice and fruit. Nice flavor development. Drinking well.
