April 13, 2008 - Tasted double blind. Dusty red currant and herb notes with a palate dominated by juicy red fruit and spice. Medium bodied, with good acidity. I thought this was an old world Grenache...close, but I had the wrong country in mind.

September 22, 2007 - Dark cherry red and younger than expected in color. Spicy notes of cinnamon, clove and oak. Acidity is very pronounced on the mid-palate, finish is dusty. At the pricepoint, there are more polished options and Borsao makes one of them, Tres Picos. Good offering but not a great QPR.

January 2, 2007 - Popped/poured. Nose is not extremely fragrant, but may open up with add'l time in the glass. The palate is rewarded by a rich, concentrated fruit that is in harmony with a soft oak. Very nice for the price. Update - 2 days later, this is drinking as well or better than on opening....the nose is richer and more fragrant, the palate still concentrated but softer. A great value grenache blend.
