Tasted non blind. Tasted from Magnum.
Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of chamomile, spice box, a hint of cocoa powder and a dash of dried herbs. Rich flavors of black berries, black cherries and dark chocolate. medium to tart acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with some air. -

November 28, 2020 - Wow what a bizarre wine! 23 years old and yet so thick, dark, viscous, extracted and all from the Merlot grape? The colour suggests youth and the tannin also but will there be enough fruit in the end to balance it? It was a real attack on the senses but no charm or much balance and so difficult to like.

December 19, 2016 - Didn't know what to expect. Never had a St Francis Reserve this age but good provenance and being a reserve very good and nice dark red fruit with a little mocha and went very well with our mid-Dec cold night and homemade Shepherds Pie. Still have probably has a a little time but why not drink up now while still enjoyable right? I would and if you don't want to let me know I'll buy it from you!
