July 30, 2012 - Upper shoulder fill. A previous bottle a few months ago had an unsound cork and was completely maderized. This bottle had a sound cork. Clear blood red-mahogany color. After 10 minutes there emerged a lovely mature bouquet of forest floor, red fruit, tobacco, leather and mushrooms. Similar on the palate, tart and medium bodied, with medium finish. Continued to improve with air, and was till enjoyable 24 hours later under vacuum stopper. A very pleasant surprise.

March 26, 2012 - Mid-shoulder fill. Upon removal of the foil, it was noted that the cork was floating in the wine, for an unknown duration -- minutes or decades. Clear dark mahogany-chestnut-oxblood. Completely maderized, but oh so mellow and rich. This must have been a very good wine in the distant past.
