March 24, 2014 - Notes after following for 12 hours open. Color is very dark violet, 90% opaque with slow, clear legs. No sediment. Licorice, cinnamon, plump and juicy black berries and red cherry in the bouquet. Alcohol is very nicely in-check at 14.8% and the Merlot influence makes a soft and sweet accent to the structure. Light to medium acidity and medium tannins with a velvet feel. Solid, mid-tier Cabernet that continued to evolve with air and should drink well for a few more years, at least. 5+10+16+8 = 89

August 18, 2013 - Decanted 1 hr and served with grilled lam kebabs. Dark red fruits and cedar with a mouthcoating personality. Plush and fruit forward... reminded me of the '08 I had recently. Both of which are nothing like the tart black cherry profile of the '07 version. Solid fruit driven cab that's somewhat one dimensional, but that dimension is at least tasty. Has the structure and stuffing to cellar a few years. 88-90
