  August 22, 2017 - Full bodied and beautifully weighted with a round, creamy texture and inconspicuous yet confident acidity. The exotica of its youth has been deposed by more nutty, mealy notes. Either way there is flavour in abundance. Fabulous length. In the twilight of its prime drinking window and won't improve much. Found forgotten at the back of my cellar and a real treat with grilled sea bass and beurre blanc.

  August 26, 2012 - Lavished with 100% new oak and made in a bold and powerful style, Xavier Guillaume's top chardonnay is a unabashed homage to ripe fruit and good oak. The nose is covered with savoury toast and nuts and butter, the palate full and fat and chewy with classic Chardonnay peaches, verging on apricot, and the finish is long. A very savoury wine, this is made for classic fish like turbot. Very satisfying.
