April 28, 2024 - I don't know how it's possible for texture to have a *smell* but somehow you can tell how velvety this is just from taking a whiff of it. The aromas are heady and weighty in the glass too, and very alluringly un-Corton-like, instead it's mostly sweet cinnamon and spice. The texture is exactly the pampering, velvety presence (somehow) forecast. The fruit is a developed dried cherry but it still has plenty of flesh.

November 11, 2023 - Another totally epic bottle of this wine from a different case. Amazing in every way. This will last for many more years.

December 6, 2022 - This is every bit as good as I remember from the last time I tasted it in 2018. Just incredible spice, energy, and balance. Amazing fruit with a touch of age, but in the most charming way. In the increasingly small category of, I don’t care what it costs, I want to buy more.

December 27, 2019 - Pale red. Redolent fragrance of ripe strawberries that is detectable 2 feet away from the glass. Medium bodied texture, strawberries and blackberries on the palate, tannin and acid in discreet harmony. After 4 hours the wine was still revealing additional dimensions. Pretty fantastic for grape juice. Leroy does it again.

December 7, 2017 - Glad to revisit this wine after 2 years. Slow oxed for 4 hours (90mins is sufficient). Rose petals, sweet red currant, perfume and flowers on the nose. Palate has more density than my previous bottle. Very expressive, precise and balanced with grand cru weight. The acidity is still very high. It can probably age for another 10 years. This is drinking so beautifully. 94-95
