April 9, 2022 - Beautiful wine in a perfect spot. Cork was soaked and the bottle actually leaked quite a bit in transit. But was actually a little tight on opening, a little tannin, opened up with an hour of air and really settled in. Bright red fruit in perfect harmony with everything else going on. Loved it. Best $50 I ever spent with K&L in January 2022

December 1, 2020 - Still full of bright fruit. Medium bodied but held up well against a filet mignon and a wagyu NY. Wonderful stuff.

December 12, 2009 - I was a bit nervous opening this wine since I had hung on to it for so long and thought its time may have passed. Instead I was quite pleased with the balance and structure of the wine. The tannis had fallen off (into the considerable sediment - I should have taken the time to decant) leaving behind a beautifully mellow wine with notes of cherry, currant and a hint of cedar.

January 23, 2009 - Boy am I glad we had this bad boy when we did. The cork was hella wet and came out alarmingly easy. That said, the wine was fine and dandy. It liked a few swirls in the glass to reintroduce it to the air of the outside world, but what was left behind was a real treat. Elegantly aged, not overpowering Napa Cab. Very nice stuff. An excellent birthday treat!

October 27, 2008 - This was a surprise. A bit of funk on the nose, along with classic Cabernet notes. Surprisingly lithe in the mouth. It didn't have the concentration of the 1986 Forman, but it was very good in its own right. Less concentration to the fruit, and the secondary elements didn't marry quite perfectly. Still, this was a quite complete, tasty wine. A touch drying on the finish. B+/A-
