June 26, 2020 - Even though I bought this at the cellar door in the Hunter, I'm pretty sure this is from Mudgee as (a) it doesn't taste like any Hunter shiraz I've had before and (b) it says Mudgee on the label.

Even with this age, still showing bright inky purple but turning garnet. Plums and blackberries on the nose but not dominating, as there are notes of coffee, subtle spices, liquorice and oak.

Medium to full bodied, rich palate but not as overpowering as some South Australian shiraz can be. Great balance and length. A lovely wine, drinking very nicely now and good value at A$45 on release.

November 6, 2013 - The perfect example of people not understanding what a wine is then giving it a ridiculous score.

The wine is from Mudgee, not the Hunter

Drank the wine over 2 nights, found it elegant and quite a good example of a Mudgee Shiraz, on the second night the wine had opened up significantly and the heat had dropped a little, a lovely little wine.

January 11, 2013 - poor example of a Hunter shiraz

December 25, 2012 - Deep dark magenta red colour with aromas of plums, star anlse and a hint of cedary oak. The rich ripe black fruits along with cloves cinnamon and sweet dark chocolate linger on the well rounded palate. There is a good balance of fruit and oak tannin. The current tannins will soften with age and the fruits will lift. This wine is good for drinking now, however given time this wine will continue to develop into a great Big Red.
