August 1, 2022 - Red to brownish colour, low intensity. In the middle of the maturity window. Compost dominating the nose. On the palate a tiny sweetness but dry, high(-) acidity, low in (rounded) tannins, medium body, 13%. Fruty, mature berries. Decent length. Easy to like. Enjoy now.

Cuvée of pinot noir on lime soil around Schweigen in Südpfalz. Matured 16 months in small barrels of palatine oak.

December 5, 2020 - Developed nose with coffee, dark chocolate, toasted oak and mature red fruit, strawberries. On the palate a tiny sweetness, high acidity, medium level, square tannins, medium body. Good length but dominated by oak and bit too much cream caramel and nougat.

January 29, 2020 - Intense aromas, but the fruit feels slightly dull and the acidity is a bit sharp. I tasted this wine young and all the primary dark berry aromas are gone. Maybe waited a bit too long. Still quite a pleasure to drink, but I think this has seen better days...

October 20, 2017 - Burgundy Tasting (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Glass: Schott Zwiesel Burgundy / Riedel Vinum Burgundy
PnP. Surely a German Pinot has always a hard stand against top Burgundies, but it performed quite well. Nose driven by some animal notes a bit reductive. On the palate good pressure, cool red fruit, good spicyness, high, well integrated acidity. Has a long life ahead. 90-91

July 16, 2017 - My last bottle. Quite pale in couloir. Open, lovely fruit, lots of acidity, very mineral. Very well balanced and quite persistent. Drink or keep. 91-93
