February 20, 2015 - Just out of the bottle, has a small, dark, somewhat sharp aroma. A berry element comes out early as it opens, but is not strong. Tannins present in the flavor, but not strong. The flavor begins with bright berries, followed by darker fruit; a good mix of the two. Color is a deep dark maroon.
Tasted at about 58°F. -

September 10, 2013 - Summer Wines - Syrahs and Pinots ...: Although these Australian wines seem to be dialing down the heat in recent vintages, there still seems to be a good oz/bad oz dichotomy and this one falls on the wrong side - it shows too much of a cloying sweetness with overly ripe flavors of blueberry and not enough spice or earth to offset it. Not hot per se but fatiguing on palate.
