November 3, 2013 - 91 points now with potential for 92.
Bought a few bottles at the estate and drank the first that night at a Paso restaurant. Like the other wines they were selling in October of 2013, all the wines had a little longer to mature in the bottle. Should be great in a year. Right now, lots of cherry and bramble with pepper and licorice in on the palate. The tannins are already well integrated, but a little green. -

September 28, 2012 - Having purchased this after tasting at the winery I wonder whether my taste buds failed me that day a few months ago. Of course it's a dense wine, but at home it came across as a bit overly ripe, overly extracted and simple. Perhaps some more age will mellow it, but I doubt it. This is in your face ripe fruit that would be best against your hearty grilled meat dishes. (Had 1/2 bottle remaining the second night and the air did it no good.)
