Community Tasting Notes 1

    January 21, 2014 - Varietal: 65% Merlot, 25% Cab. Sauv., 10% Cab. Franc
Vineyards: Salignac and Villegouge (NW of Libourne)

    Color: Garnet / brick red
Nose: fresh (young) fruit; strawberry, raspberry
Taste: decently balanced, very light, no complexity, slight acidity
Finish: short duration with a slight chalkiness

Overall, this is a fairly decent but unexciting pour. Ready to drink now as I doubt it will improve with further aging. The wine is uncomplicated and lacks structure. A decent QPR but better selections are available for a couple dollars more.
