March 17, 2020 - Had een beetje gevreesd voor dit flesje, maar onterecht.

Heel lekker, wel vrij "log", zonder er over te zijn. Zeer aromatich, donker. Rijpe braam, rijpe kers, kriekjes op alcohol.
Toch beetje modder op de bodem.
    Zal wellicht niet beteren.

April 21, 2013 - Concentrated raisins on nose and palate. Cooked black cherry compote with long hot finish. Just don't feel this wine is giving of its best, as yet. Will keep.

September 1, 2012 - Rich, sweet and sharp, this is like a silky and very boozy fruitcake! Has that incredible corvina berry nose with a minty lift to all the globs of raisin, fig and morello cherry fruit. Although unchallenging, the palate delivers on the promise of the nose. Along the same lines as La Grola, if i recall correctly this has more purity and sheen. There isnt really much to quibble with here - good acidity, full palate without being cloying, drying finish complementing the sharp sweetness - hard not to like, this is a crowd-pleasing wine that grabs your attention at a very decent price.

April 20, 2012 - What a wine. Loads of flavour, smooth and with a great tone this is a superb wine though you have to think it would suit better winter around the fire than a friday lunchtime in a wine bar. I loved the aroma, the colour was a little off, but the raisin in the background dominated the palate; extremely moreish - my friend described it as a 'proper bottle of wine' and it is. Amarone is not for everyone's palate but for me in the right setting it is something that's worth talking about.
