November 15, 2017 - Still have a few bottles of this war horse kicking around in the cellar. Serviceable, but the horse blanket aromas and its slow decline into acidity tell me its past time to drink these. The 2009s are still the benchmark for this wine. But the ‘10s have been good, as well. Represents one of the best sub-$10 offerings we’ve ever had. If you see the ‘16s at Costco, grab a case or two for weeknight pop ‘n pours. They’re opening up nicely.

June 4, 2016 - This has been quite the workhorse over the last several years, accompanying more than a few weeknight dinners. Now nearing the end of its arc, this offering is becoming more muted and throwing off considerable sediment. Some black fruits and kirsch. But the finish has lost its zip. Definitely in its drink-up stage. (= Pass, as it sits in the glass today)

May 22, 2016 - Reminds me of a Pedroncelli; a bit rough upon purchase, but rewards with some time in the cellar. Even improved after a couple days in the fridge.

July 27, 2014 - Very nice, especially considering it's a bargain-bin CdR. Revisited this with grilled chicken, and it's holding up darn well (cellar stored). The fruit is starting to drop off, but it has picked up nice cedary/tobacco notes. Not nearly as complex as the '09, which is still drinking wonderfully. Will need to finish up these 2010's by yearend.

July 25, 2014 - This wine had much more body and complexity than one expects from a $6.99 wine; it was like a quite respectable Chateauneuf du Pape, with blackberry and smoky notes to it.
