April 15, 2013 - consistent with previous notes. just remarkable stuff. watch those corks, though. this one had major stains lengthwise.

opaque purple-black in the glass, like expensive velvet. what to say about this wine? wow. just friggin' wow. explosive yet balanced, ripe yet elegant, expressive yet nuanced. so much fruit spice; not oak spice. I absolutely loved this. I've never had the pleasure of an upper-upper echelon cab, but I've had Araujo, Hundred Acre, Hillside Select, and others in this category. This BLEW those out of the water. I have moved away from cabs in favor of Rhône varietals, but this just jumped to my wine of the year. the closest red wine I've ever had to 100 points. phenomenal.1 person found this helpful Comment
