  January 11, 2013 - Very nice Lodi Zin. Easy to drink. Cherry-Berry fruit with hints of pepper. Long, delicate finish.

  August 24, 2012 - Cherries in the nose and mouth. Fruity with an alcohol bite at the end. Overall, a good bottle. Not the best zin I've ever had but a good everyday choice

  April 22, 2012 - Unlike friends and family members who love these, I have never understood the value proposition of CH Wines, which sources wines from different regions and bottles them under their own label. This bottling, presumably just released, punctuates what I've found in tastings of their previous wines -- that they lack the sense of place (terroir?) that makes wines so compelling, even good lower-priced ones. Lot 301 is a case in point. A Lodi Zin, it has none of the juicy, in-your-face, briary elements that so many wines from this region share. Instead it's a restrained, almost reticent, offering with very subtle notes of blackberries and a nudge of oak. Medium bodied with reasonable acidity, it packs considerable heat (15.0% alc.) from front to back. The result is a wine in which the alcohol hogs the limelight, with the fruit being forced to fight for shelf space. Even at $8 a pop, not a very reasonable QPR.
